Celebrating our tenth birthday

November 9th 2019 was an important milestone in the Nash Business Systems history. Celebrating ten years in business. Formed in 2009 the business led by Mark Nash has grown from a small home office, into a team of 4 working. Now based at the Imex Business Centre in Redditch.

Ten years has seen many highs and lows for our business like so many others. Learning through our experiences. Listening and learning about what our customers want and need. Above all offering innovative solutions through our bespoke software systems.

Our team consisting of Mark, Managing Director. With Richard Holt, Analyst programmer. Cody Kinsella, Programmer and Helen Nash, Business Development Manager. Problem solving as a team working on tricky or complicated systems is what the team enjoy the most.

Asking the team of their favourite piece of programming work over the last ten years. Mark advises “My particular favourite was a supplier KPI for a large business. We took a job which took a full-time member of staff a week to complete every month. Through the system we created this reduced to 30 seconds a week! Our customer could not believe the change. The employee could go on to work on other important roles within the department. Making her job much more varied but still ensuring these vital tasks were completed. The change also cut down on support calls and emails. In conclusion through the time we saved the business gained extra employee hours.”

Richard said “I really liked creating an app for River Canal Rescue. Where one of their customers is broken down on the canal waterways. Where they can send their exact location via the app. Reporting allows a 55-inch television screen in the office to view where the breakdown is. When I visit this customer and see the screen, I feel great pride in a job well done. Helping our customer provide excellent help to their customers.”

Cody said “I enjoyed working on a manufacturing system for British Made Shutters. The work was very different, I had never coded anything like that before. I enjoyed the different style of system. The customer is so pleased with the finished product which makes me happy.”

Of course, ten years has also made the business face challenges. A fire at one customers premises meant an emergency for us to assist in. Their offices had caught fire when a nearby firework factory had exploded. We assisted our customer with emergency backups and support. As a result they were up and working from a temporary office the very next day. Therefore ensuring their customers still received their support.

A name change for the business also took place in 2018. Changing from Nash Web Solutions to Nash Business Systems. Therefore people no longer think we design websites and now know we produce systems for all types of Business. Our new name provided clarity for customers.

We have also felt great pride when the systems we create help our customers to win awards. One large automotive supplier won an award from a major automotive OEM. Winning for Best in Class, Customer Complaint System.

A logistics company also won an award for innovative displays on their 55-inch screen. Which shows the lead-time to an automotive OEM.

We have welcomed over 20 work experience students from computing and business backgrounds. Coming into our office for daily or weekly placements. We continue to work with schools and the Heart of Worcestershire college in Redditch. For instance we help with careers initiatives and CV skills.

We look forward to our next ten years in business. Above all we would like to thank all our customers, colleagues and friends for their support. We look forward to meeting new customers and working on new challenges. In addition helping more young people in our local town.
